Le Grand Défi Aquapark Starts The Season with New Attractions
(eap) Until September 14, visitors to the Le Grand Défi leisure area in Saint-Julien-des-Landes (Vendée, France) can once again experience water fun on the park’s three-hectare lake. The floating water course, which comes from the manufacturer Wibit and comprises 80 modules, was expanded at the start of the season to include three new elements: “MultiClimb”, a climbing module with a final slide into the water, “LogRoll”, a floating “tree trunk” that challenges users’ balance, and “Trampoline 4”, a large water trampoline. In addition to the new modules, a wooden terrace was built on the shore, which offers space for up to 40 people.
“In 2024, the Aquapark was one of the park’s great successes with 30,000 visitors to this new area alone. We are delighted to be expanding it this year and making it even more fun,” emphasizes Armel Lancereau, Director of the Grand Défi.
The rest of the leisure park’s offerings have also been further expanded: Two new courses have been added to the climbing forest, the heart of the facility – an approximately 30-minute circuit for children aged two to five, themed around the Middle Ages, and a 45-minute course with a 150-metre zip wire across the lake. Another new feature is a Jurassic-themed paintball field with a backdrop of land and flying dinosaurs. The “Le Grand Défi Olympiques” activity, originally developed for school groups, is now also available for companies: Up to 64 participants can compete against each other in three-hour team challenges. ■
