Libori Festival Attracts around 1.4 Million Visitors
(eap) After nine days, the annual Libori Festival in Paderborn, East Westphalia, came to an end yesterday, Sunday, with a grand fireworks display. With around 1.4 million visitors, attendance was slightly lower than in 2024, but the overall feedback was very positive. This means that the festival, which is celebrated in Paderborn’s city center under the motto “Church, Culture & Fair,” was able to maintain its 2024 level despite unstable weather. Among the popular attractions of the event were, as usual, the cathedral and cultural program, the “Pottmarkt” on the market square and cathedral square, and the 55-meter-high Ferris wheel (Kipp & Sohn KG) on the 1.6-kilometer-long fairgrounds on Liboriberg, where more than 150 showmen and vendors are allowed.
Incidentally, in 2026, Paderborn will host the Delegates’ Day of the German Showmen’s Union (DSB). From January 22 to 25, the showmen will meet in the cathedral city, where the “Interschau” trade fair will also take place at the same time. The local showmen’s association, Schaustellerverein Paderborn e.V. will celebrate its 65th anniversary as part of the showmen’s congress. ■
