(eap) Gothenburg’s Liseberg amusement park destination has appointed Amanda Rydenstam (see photo) as its new Creative Director. She succeeds David Schofield, who has played a key role in shaping the destination’s creative identity for more than 30 years. During a transition period, Schofield will continue to support the company in an advisory capacity as Senior Advisor.

Rydenstam will take up her new position on 28 September 2026 and will be responsible for Liseberg’s creative direction. Her remit will include the entire destination, including the amusement park, accommodation offerings, the water park, restaurants, seasonal concepts and future development projects. Rydenstam, who holds a degree in architecture and has also studied spacial design and art history, previously served as Creative Director at Okidoki Architects.

“We were looking for a person who could combine strategic thinking with creative excellence, while understanding the complex demands of a modern destination. In Amanda, we have found a leader capable of carrying forward Liseberg’s strong artistic and architectural heritage while bringing fresh perspectives and new ideas,” says Andreas Andersen, CEO of Liseberg group.

“Liseberg has a remarkable creative legacy that I greatly admire. I’m excited to build on what has made Liseberg such a success, while exploring new ways to create experiences for future generations of guests,” comments Amanda Rydenstam. ■
