Livigno/Italy: New Skiddy Kart Track Opened in the Italian Alps

This summer saw the opening of a new leisure attraction in the center of the duty-free mountain town of Livigno (Lombardy) in the Italian Alps. Since July tourists can enjoy a slippery adventure on the newly opened go kart track. The “Skiddy” track from Italian manufacturer Neveplast provides for a lot of fun in six electrically powered go karts delivered by OTL. At the end of last year, Neveplast presented the product for the first time (cp. EAP issue 1/2013). The go-kart track is covered with an artificial snow surface and this is why six vehicles at a time can glide around as if they were on a real snow-covered track. Forty-five people per hour can slide, glide, counter-steer and pass other drivers during the eight-minute drive while six further vehicles are recharged offside. The operators of the new, permanent attraction, Dario and Ivan Bormolini, are also working as ski instructors in the region. (eap)
