(eap) A new chapter in the history of the English Pleasurewood Hills Family Theme Park has begun. Opened in 1983 and part of the French Looping Group portfolio since 2011, the park in Lowestoft (Suffolk County) was recently officially sold to the British, family-run operating company Premier Attractions Ltd. The company, managed by the Stokes family, specialises in the operation of seasonal rides and attractions across the UK, the Middle East, and Asia. For almost 15 years, Pleasurewood Hills was under the management of the French operator group based in Saint-Malo, which had acquired the park at that time together with six other sites from the Compagnie des Alpes. According to a statement by the Looping Group, a strong local player such as Premier Attractions would be best positioned to help the park fully realise its development potential. The group expressed its gratitude in particular for the good cooperation with General Manager Ricky Lark over the past years, who has been responsible for the park’s operational management since 2018.
With the sale of the English amusement park, the Looping Group’s portfolio of UK-based leisure facilities now comprises only two remaining parks: West Midlands Safari Park and Drayton Manor Theme Park. The group operates around 20 leisure and theme parks, water parks as well as zoos in eight European countries. ■
