Neveplast Expands “LIFT” Application Area to Snowmobiles
(eap) Neveplast, the Italian manufacturer of artificial floor coverings for ski slopes, sliding and drifting tracks that can be used all year round, has expanded its “LIFT” product to include a new application area: In future, the modular artificial flooring, which is intended to simplify the transition onto and from snow surfaces, is also to be used for the handling and storage of snowmobiles.
To date, the product has been used in particular in the loading and unloading areas of mountain lift stations in order to address the challenge of varying snow depths and to enable a smooth, safe transition onto slopes. The company has now responded to customer requests and has implemented several initial installations which, according to Neveplast, confirm the functionality of the LIFT flooring for snowmobiles.
At the Italian ski resort of Val Gardena, a garage for the vehicles was equipped with the special synthetic flooring, making them easier to manoeuvre and allowing more flexible parking configurations with space for additional snowmobiles. At the Colere ski resort in the province of Bergamo, the entry and exit processes for snowmobiles are said to have been simplified, enabling the vehicles to be deployed more quickly.
By reducing friction and mechanical stress on snowmobile runners, the flooring technology also contributes to lower maintenance requirements and therefore saved expenses. ■
