New “Schwaben Resort Ebnisee” to be Created through Hotel Acquisition
(eap) Schwaben Park continues its expansion and will take over the long-established Hotel Reich am Ebnisee on 1 August 2025. The hotel, operated by Volker Reich since 2017, will become the third accommodation offering of the family-run leisure company. With this addition, the new Schwaben Resort Ebnisee is being created – a destination for holidays, events, and recreation in the Swabian Forest.
Since the opening of the Schwaben Dorf in 2017, demand for overnight stays near the park has been steadily increasing. “We welcome guests from all over Germany – and now even from across Europe. Many combine their visit to Schwaben Park with a short holiday or a weekend break in nature,” reports Managing Director André Hudelmaier. In 2023, the Schwaben Hotel Ebnisee (see EAP news from 12 May 2023) was added to the portfolio. Moving forward, this hotel will be operated under the name Wald Hotel, while the newly acquired Hotel Reich will be known as the See Hotel. According to the Hudelmaier family, the new naming system aims to help guests intuitively decide whether they prefer a quiet forest atmosphere or a lakeside setting.
“We are genuinely grateful that our previous investments have been so well received. This positive development shows us we are on the right track – and gives us the strength to take the next steps,” says Hudelmaier. The existing hotel team will be fully retained by the new operator.
The new See Hotel offers 21 rooms, three holiday apartments, a lakeside terrace with food service, and event facilities for up to 120 people. From now on, dogs are also welcome – a service that had been lacking until now. “Many guests had expressed the wish to bring their dog – and we are now happy to meet that request at the See Hotel. Whether it’s a walk around Lake Ebnisee or a relaxed afternoon on the terrace – both two- and four-legged guests will feel at home here,” says Marcel Bender, PR & Marketing Manager at Schwaben Park.
Looking ahead, Schwaben Park is planning to further expand its leisure offerings at the resort location, including a mini-golf course, camper van pitches, and an indoor adventure attraction to be built in a former tennis hall. Mayor Michael Clauss praised the vision and commitment of the operator family: “With the new Schwaben Resort Ebnisee, the Swabian Forest will not only gain in tourism appeal, but also increase its visibility as a destination for day trips and holidays far beyond the region.” ■
