The world’s first “Frozen“-themed area was officially opened yesterday at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort (HKDL). In addition to the realization of the kingdom of “Arendelle“ from the popular Disney animation movie “Frozen“, visitors can enjoy two new attractions. One is the “Frozen Ever After“ boat ride, the other the family roller coaster “Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs“.

“World of Frozen represents Hong Kong Disneyland’s largest and boldest expansion since it opened in 2005,” said Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences. “Our theme parks always grow and evolve with new stories and experiences, and it is exciting to make all these new worlds come to life for our guests. As Walt Disney said, ‘Disneyland will never be completed as long as there is imagination left in the world. ’At Disney Experiences, the possibilities are endless.”

“I am thrilled to see how the kingdom of Arendelle in ‘Frozen’ has come to real life. Visitors to Hong Kong Disneyland can now physically immerse themselves in scenes once only featured in animation,” said Paul Chan, Financial Secretary of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. He added: “I am confident that the opening of the World of Frozen is a defining moment to elevate Hong Kong Disneyland to a whole new level, and to attract more tourists to embark on journeys to Hong Kong.”

Further Frozen-themed areas are to follow at Tokyo Disney Sea in 2024 and at Disneyland Paris in 2025.
