New Entertainment Venue “Billionaire St. Moritz” Complements Grand Hotel

(eap) Billionaire St. Moritz, a new dinner show and clubbing venue, has opened in the Swiss winter sports resort of St. Moritz. Directly connected to the historic Grand Hotel des Bains Kempinski, the entertainment venue occupies the premises of the former Casino St. Moritz. The acoustic planning and AV technology design were carried out by the internationally active New York-based consulting and design firm WSDG.

Integrated into the stage is an approximately 35-square-metre LED wall from AOTO with a resolution exceeding 4K. The visual setup is complemented by holographic projection capabilities using several stacked Epson projectors. The integrated sound system was supplied by d&b. A central control solution from Crestron is used to operate the venue’s 34 JB-Lighting spotlights, while the audio mixing console is from Yamaha.

The aim was to create a modern event environment for dinner shows, live entertainment and clubbing while at the same time meeting the requirements of the adjacent luxury hotel. A key focus of the conversion of the former casino was the complete acoustic isolation of the new entertainment spaces from the immediately adjoining hotel areas, allowing events with widely varying sound levels to take place without disturbing hotel guests.

The new entertainment venue is aimed in particular at the Kempinski’s international and sophisticated clientele and is intended to expand the range of high-end entertainment venues in the region. ■
