New Rainforest Exhibition at Allwetterzoo Münster
(eap) Currently there is a new exhibition at Germany’s Allwetterzoo Münster. In the zoo’s South America house, the exhibition “Consumption and the Rainforest” by the OroVerde Rainforest Foundation can be visited until August 27, 2023. The exhibition draws attention to an important topic: how each of us can contribute to the protection of the rainforest in our everyday lives. Various infographics address which foods and consumer goods in particular are driving rainforest deforestation and what we can do in our everyday lives to prevent it.

These include the yellow-breasted capuchin, which is found exclusively in the coastal forests of eastern Brazil. The species is threatened with extinction, which is why a reserve population – currently the largest population outside Brazil – is kept at the Allwetterzoo Münster.
Most recently, the Meranti Hall was opened at Allwetterzoo-Münster, a tropical house that is part of the 2023+ master plan, which is estimated at a total investment volume of 59 million euros. ■
