(eap) Following its European market debut in the UK, the US-based indoor park concept Slick City Action Park is continuing its expansion across the continent. The first European located opened in Nottingham in spring this year. Together with Norwegian trampoline park operator Activeon, which is driving Slick City’s expansion in Europe as a franchise partner, two further parks are currently under development in Vienna, Austria, and Gothenburg, Sweden. Both parks are expected to open towards the end of this year.
“We are very pleased with how Slick City has been received in Nottingham, and we are excited to now take the next step with Gothenburg and Vienna,” says John Nylen, CEO of Activeon. “We strongly believe in the concept and its potential across Europe. We have an ambitious rollout plan, and with two more parks already under development, we are building real momentum.”
The approximately 4,500-square-metre Swedish location is being developed at Åby Arena in Mölndal, a new multifunctional event venue in the greater Gothenburg area. With its opening, Slick City will enter the Scandinavian market for the first time. The spacious indoor area and high ceilings are expected to provide sufficient space for the slides and further action-based attractions.
In Vienna, the first Slick City Action Park in Austria is planned on an area of 4,700 square metres. It is set to become one of the concept’s largest European locations to date. Here, too, the focus will be on Slick City’s characteristic large-scale dry slides as well as further active entertainment attractions for children, teenagers and adults alike.
“We can’t wait to welcome our first guests and introduce the Slick City Action Park experience to Austria,” says Florian Ruckert, Managing Director Germany & Austria at Activeon. ■
