Obituary: Rolf Düpmann (*1954 –†2026)

(eap) On 26 March, Rolf Düpmann, a long-standing companion in the international leisure industry, passed away at the age of 71.

For more than 30 years, the Iserlohn-born entrepreneur served as CEO of FAB (Freizeit-Anlagen-Bau S.a.r.l., later FAB Luxembourg S.A.), which he co-founded together with Helmut Schreiber. In this role, he positioned the company as a recognised distribution partner for high-quality attractions and services within the industry. His extensive market knowledge and international network – particularly in Europe and Asia – supported his work as a project developer and intermediary for attractions.

Under Düpmann’s leadership, FAB developed over the decades into an established and respected provider, supporting numerous projects in the theme park and attractions sector, from initial concept development through to operational implementation.

The industry bids farewell to a committed and respected colleague, who will be remembered for his calm, reserved and always sincere manner. ■
