Ostseetherme Ahlbeck / Germany: Expansion Plans on the Schedule

The Ostseetherme (Baltic Sea Thermal Spa) has existed for almost 15 years and now hopes to receive funding from the state of Mecklenburg-Western-Pomerania to get started with the complex reconstruction of the facility for around 11.2 million Euros. The thermal spa is in the red and plans to invest particularly in new technical equipment and the wellness area. Thirty percent of the 145,000 guests projected for 2010 will probably come from Poland. At present the facility expects an annual deficit of around 750,000 Euros. (eap)
