(eap) On 17 May, Paultons Park in the UK is set to open “Ghostly Manor” – a media-based Gameplay Theatre in which guests take part in an interactive ghost hunt.

Developed in cooperation with Mack Rides and Lagotronics Projects, the attraction features multiple media-based scenes that guests experience while travelling in four-seater ride carriages. The carriages are equipped with interactive shooters – dubbed “Phantom Phasers” in Ghostly Manor – which are used to chase mischievous ghosts and misbehaving spirits away from the manor. The storyline for the attraction was developed in cooperation with the Leisure Expert Group and the theming was realised by Themics.

“We are immensely excited to see guests immerse themselves in the world of Ghostly Manor this May half term. Dr Kinley’s haunted manor brings a fascinating ghost hunting story that will thrill children and parents alike, further adding to the park experience for the whole family,“ states James Mancey, Deputy Managing Director at Paultons Park.

With an investment of approximately GBP 3.5 million (EUR 4.1 million), the new attraction is one of the first of its kind worldwide – a second ride called “EDventure” has just recently opened at Europa-Park in Germany. Further details on this new attraction format can be found in the article on “EDventure” published in the new May/June issue of EAP magazine. ■
