Phoenix des Lumières Dortmund Presents “The Little Prince”
(eap) From today, visitors to Phoenix des Lumières Dortmund can immerse themselves in the world of the famous classic “The Little Prince” by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. The new immersive experience accompanies the Little Prince on his travels, leads through central motifs of the book and is carried by a narrative voice as well as an exclusively composed soundtrack. The show combines the nostalgic original drawings by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry with creative reinterpretations in various artistic styles and text projections, aiming to create a poetic, contemporary and emotionally touching overall experience. In addition to the narrator’s voice of the pilot – who, as in the book, guides visitors through the story inside the Phoenixhalle – the Little Prince and other characters receive their own voices to make their presence appear even more vivid and tangible. The author’s estate administration was also involved in the conception of the show.
“The collaboration between Culturespaces Studio and the estate of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry was extraordinarily smooth and creative. Both sides worked hand in hand to create a unique vision of the Little Prince. Carefully crafted images and animations, as well as sound design and music, bring one of our most poetic shows to life,” explains Grégoire Monnier, Director of Culturespaces Studio. Andreas Richter, Director of Phoenix des Lumières, adds: “I am very pleased to conclude the year with this impressive show, which not only fascinates visually but also conveys a positive message. I particularly like how the quotes in the show almost seem alive – they respond to events, trigger them and reflect the characters.”
“The Little Prince – An Immersive Adventure” can be visited daily from 1 p.m. onwards and complements the morning program “Monet – Founder of Impressionism”. Contributing to the development of the new Little Prince show were, among others, Culturespaces Studio & the Estate of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (co-production), Nicolas Charlin (artistic direction), Spectre Lab (concept and realization) and Start-Rec (musical supervision and mixing). ■
