(eap) The Belgian theme park operator group Plopsa has a new CEO: From October, Carl Lenaerts will be at the helm of the company. He replaces interim CEO Koen Clement, who temporarily took over from Steve Van den Kerkhof after parent company Studio 100 parted ways with its longtime CEO earlier this year. Lenaerts most recently served as CEO of Standaard Boekhandel and previously held various management positions at companies such as Kinepolis and Club Brugge as well as in the banking sector.

Carl Lenaerts says: “I am honoured and excited to take on the role of CEO at Plopsa. Plopsa is a unique Belgian company whose mission is to let its visitors experience magical moments. I am looking forward to working with the talented Plopsa team and realising its ambitious plans for the future.”

Studio 100 owners Hans Bourlon and Gert Verhulst make the following comments: “We are convinced that Carl Lenaerts is the right person to lead this new chapter of Plopsa. We would also like to thank Koen Clement and Koen Peeters who, as interim CEOs, succeeded in putting the company on a stable course in the short term. They will continue to succeed Plopsa from their role on the board of directors. It is now up to the new CEO to continue their work.” ■
