Poland: Park of Poland to Open "Waterworld" in 2018

Near the Polish city of Mszczonów, Park of Poland is currently under development to become the country’s largest entertainment and leisure destination within the next years – its first phase will debut an indoor waterpark named “Waterworld”, which is scheduled to be inaugurated in April 2018.

Framed by glass walls and a glass-paneled retractable roof the waterpark will cover an area of some 20 hectares (49 acres), including three different zones. The first will feature a large swimming pool for tropical bathing fun, in another area guests will enjoy indulgent spa treatments based on the region’s natural geothermal water resources. “The Center of the Galaxy” is the third zone featuring more than 15 signature slides from Turkish manufacturer Polin. The colorful twisting tubes will soar above the waterpark’s lush landscape of tropical plants inside the facility.

The Park of Poland, which has an investment volume of some 180 million Euros, is being developed by Dutch Global City Holdings. The German Wund Unternehmensgruppe, operator of Therme Erding and Therme Bucureşti (c.f. EAP, 3/2016) amongst other bathing facilities, is the strategic partner for the development and operation of the waterpark. (eap)
