PortAventura: “Dragon Khan” Returns with “Easter Celebration”

Dragon Khan, in PortAventura Park’s China themed area, is supposed to reopen from Easter week onwards.

(eap) The Spanish leisure resort PortAventura World will host its “Easter Celebration” event days from March 26 to May 3 and, in this context, also launch the modernized roller coaster “Dragon Khan”.

Through a partial modernization of the characteristic red track as well as the complete renewal of two elements – the Cobra Roll and the Vertical Loop – of the B&M coaster, which opened in 1995, the ride experience will be enhanced, and the lifespan of the attraction extended. The reopening is scheduled for the start of the Easter Celebration days. At the same time, the park will extend its seasonally limited opening days beyond weekends then; the water attractions and “Templo del Fuego” will also resume operations.

In the family area “SésamoAventura”, the Easter event will focus on spring-themed decorations and activities. The show “Easter Party” brings together the Sesame Street characters, complemented by street entertainment featuring characters such as the Easter Bunny as well as meet & greets with Bert, Ernie, Cookie Monster and other characters. In addition, the show programme will be expanded with two new productions: “México Lindo” provides impressions of different regions of Mexico through a musical journey, while “Can Can Express” tells a story in a Far West style, featuring dance, duels and humorous elements.

Ferrari Land, which is also part of the resort, will reopen on March 27. The Caribe Aquatic Park water park will start its summer season on May 23. There, a new family area of around 6,000 square metres called “Coral Bay, The Lost Legend” is planned for this year, which is set to include, among other attractions, a family water coaster unique in Europe (see EAP News of 21 Jan 2026). ■
