(eap) The German company Wibit Sports GmbH (Wibit), which is known for its floating water parks, has a new member in its management. Ralf Schwung, who has been serving as the company’s commercial director for the past three years, has been promoted to the management board, effective February 1st this year. Robert Cirjak, who founded Wibit in 1996 together with his friend and business partner Romann Rademacher, is stepping down from operational management after 27 years. However, he will continue to take on representative tasks on the advisory board as a global brand ambassador. Rademacher will remain on the management board and will continue managing the company together with Ralf Schwung.

“Of course, this is not an easy step for me to take. Wibit has been a central part of my life for 27 years,” explains Robert Cirjak. “But just like a soccer player knows when it’s time to hang up their cleats, I realize that now is the right time for me to step onto the sidelines and pass on my experience. As Wibit’s brand ambassador, I am excited to continue building and nurturing relationships for Wibit as the company continues to grow.”

“Since his start at Wibit, Ralf has significantly contributed beyond his area of responsibility to the strategy, optimization and design of our business and processes. With his strength in implementing ideas, his ability to focus on the essentials and his personality, he is the best possible fit for our values, our culture and our future challenges,” says Wibit co-founder and Managing Director Romann Rademacher on the decision.

Ralf Schwung: “I very much look forward to expanding my area of responsibility at Wibit and the new task of further developing Wibit in terms of sales and organization in order to use the dynamic developments around us to expand our market share. It is an honor to be able to lead Wibit’s unique positioning and culture into the future.”

Schwung has a commercial and business management background and has held management positions in various industries over the past 20 years. He has led teams of up to 1,500 employees in medium-sized, entrepreneur-managed companies as well as in group-managed units to growth and improved results. ■
