(eap) The Main Street at Pullman City, the Western-themed park in Bavaria, is shining in new splendor! This past Saturday marked the official reopening of the area, which had been destroyed by a major fire in January 2024 (as previously reported by EAP). During the festive opening ceremony, the Pullman City management welcomed numerous guests from the political and leisure sectors, including Bavarian Prime Minister Dr. Markus Söder and Jürgen Gevers, Managing Director of the German Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (VDFU).
Die Main Street ist das lebendige Herzstück von Pullman City – jetzt erstrahlt sie in neuem Glanz.
While fans of Western and country culture were already able to enjoy large parts of the popular destination in the Bavarian Forest again since last spring – thanks to prompt reconstruction efforts following the fire – the return of Main Street now also restores the vibrant heart of Pullman City. This includes redesigned themed restaurants, a Sheriff and Town Office, and the large Music Hall. The latter, according to Verena Six – daughter of Pullman City co-founder Claus Six and a member of the family-run business for over 14 years – was rebuilt within just six months. She expressed her pride and gratitude for the dedicated team of employees involved in the project. The Music Hall, featuring a large stage for live bands and a dance floor where guests can show off various dance styles from line dance and boogie woogie to discofox and freestyle, is part of the “Black Bison Saloon”, which also houses a restaurant area.
Auch die durch den Brand zerstörte Music Hall wurde innerhalb kurzer Zeit wiedererrichtet. Sie ist Teil des Black Bison Saloons.
New attractions on Main Street also include intricately designed themed restaurants such as “Il Cavallo – Pizza & Pasta”, the “Rodeo Steakhouse”, and the “Cantina Mexicana”. The Chinese restaurant “Sai Pu” offers a spacious dining hall as well as a billiards saloon. The now regularly scheduled shows along Main Street provide entertaining insights into the culture of the Wild West and complement explorations of other areas of the park – including an “authentic village” with original-style reconstructions of log cabins and settler houses that are actually inhabited.
Pullman City is also well known for its Karl May Festival, which is staged on a dedicated Karl May open-air stage within the park. The title of this year’s program is “Unter Geiern” (“Among Vultures”), with performances scheduled from June through September 2025. ■
