Romania: Therme Bucuresti Open to Guests

This past January saw the opening of Therme Bucuresti, a new thermal spa and wellness complex located at the outskirts of Bucharest. Covering an area of more than 30,000 square meters, the lush green facility features the “Palm”, “Galaxy” and “Elysium” themed areas, which offer e.g. eight swimming pools, 16 water slides as well as several themed saunas. Furthermore, Therme Bucuresti, which is operated by the Austria-based A-Heat Group, includes several massage and restaurant areas. The facility’s architecture is based on a concept developed by Germany’s Wund Group, operator of five German bathing complexes including Therme Erding and Badeparadies Euskirchen (cf. EAP, issue 2/2016). A giant glass dome offers visitors a fantastic view on the new facility’s outdoor area. According to its own statement, Theme Bucuresti has enjoyed great interest among visitors since its opening. Read more about the new bathing complex in our next magazine issue (EAP, 3/2016). (eap)
