Shopping Destination The Galleria Al Maryah Island Announces Expansion in Entertainment Area

Abu Dhabi’s shopping destination The Galleria Al Maryah Island has announced expansion plans for 2023. After a successful 2022, in which the shopping mall saw growth both in visitors (in sum over 34 million) and sales, the center is looking to expand its offerings once again this year. In total, visitors to the mall can currently expect to find around 400 stores, 100 of which include food and beverage outlets, as well as various entertainment concepts. There is already an Xtreme Zone, which combines a trampoline park, climbing walls and arcade games. In 2021, the MENA region’s first National Geographic Ultimate Explorer FEC opened in the department store, as well as a Zero Latency VR gaming center. The mall is also home to Abu Dhabi’s largest cinema (according to its own statements), as well as a variety of play options for children – both outdoors in the Sports Park and indoors in the center itself.

This year, in addition to new shopping and gastronomy offerings, the center will be supplemented by a new brand concept from Mattel. Also, for other shopping malls worldwide, for example the Potsdamer Platz Arkaden in Berlin, the opening of Mattel centers has been announced. In addition, The Galleria plans to offer programs such as “Let’s Walks” and yoga-sessions, as well as seasonal events to connect people and encourage a healthier lifestyle. (eap)
