Silver Lake City: Europa-Park Expands Camp Resort

Silver Lake City: Europa-Park Expands Camp Resort

The managing partners arrived in style by horse-drawn carriage at Silver Lake City.

(eap) The new “Silver Lake City” adventure area was officially opened at Europa-Park today. The western town complements the existing Camp Resort with additional attractions, gastronomy offers and accommodation. With the expansion, the park is pursuing the goal of further expanding the range of overnight accommodation and the quality of the guests’ stay.

The central element of the new themed world is the “Diner Station” buffet restaurant, which has been designed in the style of an old western train station – including a faithfully reproduced train with seating – and offers 275 seats. The gastronomic offer is complemented by the “Wild Horse Bar” with 120 seats, which offers freshly tapped beer, cocktails and classic spirits in a rustic saloon atmosphere. An additional outdoor terrace with 200 seats also invites guests to linger.

There are also 36 new themed Western Houses (by Dutch specialist Arcabo; more details in the EAP News of 17 Jan 2025) for four to six people, which are nestled around the lake in Silver Lake City, as well as 68 additional caravan comfort pitches. The houses are equipped with a private bathroom, air conditioning, terrace and mini-fridge, among other things. Together with the existing ones, the total number of caravan pitches at the camp resort increases to 217.

A new adventure playground with a steam locomotive, a bull-riding station and the desert-themed mini-golf course “Gold Rush Golf” with twelve holes on an area of 650 square meters expand the leisure offer. There are also regular shows such as live music and lasso demonstrations.

The infrastructure of Silver Lake City has also been extensively modernized as part of the structural extensions. A redesigned access road and around 700 additional parking spaces – including a directly adjacent multi-storey parking lot with 580 spaces – ensure improved accessibility. The building is equipped with modern energy and supply technology; a large-scale photovoltaic system with an output of 499 kWp on the roof supports the sustainable energy supply of the site.

Further expansion is planned for 2026: These include the “Riverside Western Lodge” with 120 rooms and 526 beds, an in-house brewery that will produce up to 30,000 liters of beer a year and brew its own Europa-Park beer in the future, as well as a new location for the “YULLBE GO” VR experience. In addition, the “Kleine Helden” children’s home is being built in cooperation with the “RTL – Wir helfen Kindern e.V.” foundation, which will provide families with children suffering from cancer with a free respite stay (see EAP news from 26 Nov 2024).

Europa-Park founder Roland Mack explains: “For me, our Silver Lake City is a new themed area on its own, perhaps even a resort of its own. It tells a story that is deeply rooted in the history of the community of Rust and at the same time reflects the pioneering spirit of Europa-Park. Here we combine an authentic Western atmosphere with an experience that focuses on the spirit of adventure, quality and, last but not least, the family. Whether it's the exceptional accommodation options, the authentic gastronomy on offer or the wide range of leisure activities - you can feel the attention to detail and the special atmosphere that has characterized Europa-Park for 50 years.”

With the opening of Silver Lake City, Europa-Park is setting a further example for the continuous development of its range of experiences – with the aim of combining adventure, recreation and social commitment in a coherent thematic framework. From 2026, the expanded Western World will offer overnight accommodation for more than 2,000 guests – from their own tent or caravan to log cabins, tipi tents and covered wagons to comfortable Western-style rooms. ■
