Spain: Leisure Facilities in Benidorm Partially Reopen

Thanks to a drop in the number of infections, nothing stands in the way of shared experiences and leisure time fun on the Spanish Costa Blanca this summer. Located in the seaside resort of Benidorm, the Mundomar zoo, which is especially focused on keeping marine mammals, has been welcoming visitors again since last Saturday (12 June). Visitors can discover a new area dedicated to four desert buzzards raised by hand in the zoo. Also awaiting guests this year are new educational animal presentations that will replace the previous show formats in the long term. The new programme places an even greater emphasis on imparting knowledge on environmental and animal welfare topics.

In addition to Mundomar, the associated Terra Mítica theme park and the Aqualandia water park are also ready to open their doors again from 3 July. Terra Mítica will initially open two of its five themed areas – Iberia and Las Islas – to visitors, who will find a wide range of family activities there. There will also be a new multidisciplinary show called “Ikoro” with artists and dancers. In Aqualandia, the over 20 water attractions of the park will be in operation, including the recently opened “Cyclón” funnel slide (Aquakita). Visitors can look forward to refreshing water fun under the hot sun! (eap)
