Stefan Oswald Appointed New Head of Technical Department at Zierer
(eap) Zierer, a leading supplier of family rides and roller coasters for amusement parks worldwide, is pleased to announce a significant change in its leadership team: Stefan Oswald (photo) has become the company’s new Head of Technical Department on August 1, 2025. Oswald succeeds Walter Steininger who has served in this role for an impressive 30 years since 1995.
Having started his engineering career with Zierer in 2003, Stefan has developed a deep understanding of the amusement industry. He holds a degree in mechanical engineering and has previously worked both as a project manager as well as a leading design engineer. In his new role, he will be responsible for all engineering, design and technical processes within Zierer.
“I am very excited to start this new role and to take on this responsibility,” says Oswald. “Continuing and developing Zierer’s and also Walter’s legacy in the years ahead will be a great task for me and my team. I look forward to building on this, sticking to our tradition of engineering excellence while driving innovation and enhancing the quality of our products even further.”
Although stepping down from his previous role and having reached his official retirement age, Walter Steininger will continue his work for Zierer as a technical consultant. His expertise, experience and engineering knowledge in the amusement industry will be of great value to both Zierer’s engineers and its After Sales Department in the upcoming years. With this, Zierer guarantees a smooth transition process within its Technical Department ensuring the quality of its roller coasters and family rides. Those who would like to meet Stefan Oswald in person will have the chance to do so at the upcoming IAAPA Expo Europe in Barcelona. ■
