Tennessee / USA: Dollywood’s Splash Country to Build Water Coaster for 2013

Having opened America’s first wing coaster “Wild Eagle” at Dollywood Theme Park earlier this year (cf. EAP news from April 13, 2012), Dolly Parton now announced the construction of Tennessee’s first water coaster, set to open in May 2013 at Dollywood’s Splash Country waterpark. “RiverRush” is the name of the new attraction, a hydromagnetic coaster from ProSlide. The four-person rafts climb up a 72 meter long lift in preparation of a 7.6 meter long, 45-degree drop. The about 350 meter long track features further drops, turns and tunnels. RiverRush will be located in a newly developed area near the park’s “Big Bear Plunge” white water rafting inspired slide. (eap)
