Toverland Granted Green Light for New Development Plan

Toverland Granted Green Light for New Development Plan

In the next 20 years, Toverland wants to organically grow into a short-break destination resort.

(eap) On Tuesday evening, the municipal council of Horst aan de Maas, the Dutch municipality in which Toverland is located, approved an expanded zoning plan by a large majority. Going forward, Toverland – which opened in 2001 as an initially indoor-focused family amusement park for families with young children and has since developed into a popular, weather-independent destination with a large outdoor theme park area and annual attendance of more than one million visitors – is set to be expanded into a short-break destination in the form of a resort.

The new zoning plan, designed with a 20-year time horizon, provides the framework for the park’s organic growth. According to the company, the plan was developed over the past five years with great care and with consideration for both the environment and residents of the surrounding area. Future developments are planned to include new attractions, themed areas and entertainment offerings, as well as accommodation and recreation areas. Across all projects, the focus is to remain on high quality standards, enhancing guest satisfaction and strong storytelling, as stated by park director Jean Gelissen Jr.
