Track Completed at Cedar Point

Yesterday at approximately 2 p.m., the track for Cedar Point’s new rollercoaster “GateKeeper” was completed. The around 1.3 kilometer long track was closed by connecting the last of the 102 pieces. “This project has truly been a collaborative effort”, said August Lococo, project manager and corporate director of maintenance and compliance for Cedar Fair. “Our crews worked six days a week through rain, snow and freezing temperatures, and we’re pleased to have completed the track ahead of schedule.” As we reported in EAP 6/2012, the new wing coaster supplied by B&M will be opened right in time for the start of the 2013 season. As of May 11, the new major attraction, located directly in the park’s entrance area, will welcome the approximately three million guests who come to the park each year. (eap)
