Trade Show Results: IAAPA Asian Expo 2023 in Singapore

(eap) After a three-year pandemic-related hiatus, hopes were high that IAAPA Expo Asia in Singapore, now back as an in-person event for the first time, would set a benchmark for the attractions market and trade show development in the economically battered Asian region. A total of 5,330 attendees, including 3,764 so-called buyers, came together at the Marina Bay Sands Exhibition & Convention Centre during the four-day event (exhibition & education). In concrete terms, this means slightly less than half as many as attendees as in 2019 in Shanghai (11,400) and one-third fewer exhibitors. In a long-term comparison, the Asian trade show branch of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) is thus back at the attendee level of ten years ago.

“[…] Our Singapore show will serve as marker in our industry as we continue regional recovery efforts and is our new baseline for how we grow in the future,” said Jakob Wahl, IAAPA’s President and Chief Executive Officer.

A total of 287 exhibiting companies presented their new products, services and solutions on the show floor, including 64 first-time exhibitors. IAAPA’s next Asia show will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, from 27-30 May 2024. ■
