(eap) Natur-Resort Tripsdrill in southern Germany, which offers year-round accommodation in addition to its theme and wildlife park is expanding its accommodation offering with 20 new treehouses. The additional units will each accommodate up to four guests, increasing the resort’s bed capacity to around 400.

According to Tripsdrill, the treehouse accommodation offer has enjoyed great popularity since the first units opened in 2011. The Natur-Resort currently comprises 48 treehouses and 20 shepherd’s wagons. The additional treehouses are already under construction. For this purpose, screw foundations up to two metres long have been driven into the forest floor. Thanks to this construction method, for which Tripsdrill says it has received special approval on a case-by-case basis, the ground remains unsealed, unlike with concrete foundations. In other respects, too, the resort is focusing on construction close to nature and theming in line with the resort motto “Swabia anno 1880”.
At the same time, construction work on Hofgut Waldruh is also progressing according to plan. Covering an area of 12,000 square metres, the new development will include a themed gastronomy, conference rooms and new reception areas for the Natur-Resort. A swimming pool and wellness area for overnight guests as well as an indoor playground for families are also planned. Completion is scheduled for spring next year. ■
