Two „Angry Birds Activity Parks“ by Lappset to Be Built in China

Finland-based playground equipment manufacturer Lappset can look forward to building two Angry Birds Activity Parks in China. These projects mark the entry of the company’s Angry Birds concepts into the Chinese market. Since the end of last year, Lappset has been holding the exclusive distribution rights of Angry Birds themed playgrounds worldwide (cf. EAP news from Dec 7, 2011). Rovio, developer of the popular Angry Birds game, and Lappset signed a cooperation agreement with the two Chinese cities of Haining and Chengdu Nordic City. The activity park that is going to be installed on a 5,000 square meter large area in Haining (125 kilometers south of Shanghai) is expected to open this September. The largest activity park in China will be constructed in a new residential area of the “Nordic City of Living and Learning” in Chengdu (capital of Sichuan province in Southwest China). This Angry Birds theme world will cover around 18,000 square meters, the first phase of which will be ready to open at the end of this year. More about Angry Birds theme worlds can be read in our upcoming magazine issue (EAP 4/2012) at the beginning of July. (eap)
