(eap) The sauna area of the Bielefeld leisure and adventure pool Ishara is growing: A new infusion sauna with 65 seats and a replacement for the previous Banja sauna, which is planned to offer significantly more space in the future, are currently under construction. Bielefelder Bäder, a subsidiary of the Stadtwerke Bielefeld (Bielefeld public utility company), is investing around 350,000 euros in the expansion.

“We want to offer our guests not only more space but also a more intense sauna experience,” emphasizes Marcus Lufen, Managing Director of Bielefelder Bäder. “The demand, especially in the evening hours, is high – with the new saunas, we are responding specifically to this need while also creating new feel-good spaces.”

The two new sauna cabins (from Tischlerei & Saunabau Jelitto) have been built in prefabricated construction and have already been lifted onto the terrace of the sauna area using a crane, where they are to remain permanently. Interior finishing is currently in full swing. “The construction is technically demanding,” explains Dr. Hans-Jürgen Stern, Technical Operations Manager of Bielefelder Bäder. “We are working with high-quality materials, energy-efficient technology, and well-thought-out air circulation. The goal is a uniform, healthy sweating climate – and all that with maximum safety and comfort.”

The completion of both saunas is scheduled for mid to late September. A special opening event is planned, during which guests will be able to experience the new facilities for the first time. “We are really looking forward to the new saunas,” says Tom Hansman, Head of Ishara. “They are not only a structural expansion but also a clear commitment to the quality and diversity of our offering. Our guests can look forward to a real sauna experience – with more space, more atmosphere, and new opportunities for relaxation.” ■
