UAE: Abu Dhabi’s Yas Mall is Open

Yas Mall, Abu Dhabi’s latest retail destination, opened its doors to visitors on November 19, 2014. With nearly 400 shops as well as numerous dining options and entertainment offerings the new shopping mall wants to attract locals and tourists alike. According to gulfnews.com, nearly 20 million people are expected to come to the shopping mall in its first year of operation alone. The mall features a total net leasable area of 235,000 square meters and was developed by development, investment and management company Aldar Properties PJSC. Highlights of the mall include a 20 VOX screens cinema, a “FunWorks” FEC featuring several rides and kiddies’ attractions, a Lego concept store, a Rogo’s Rollercoaster Restaurant as well as a Géant Hypermarket. Nearly 10,000 covered parking spaces are available for visitors. Yas Mall complements the existing leisure and entertainment experience of Yas Island, including Ferrari World Abu Dhabi (there’s a direct link from the mall to Ferrari World), Yas Waterworld, Yas Marina Circuit, Yas Links Golf Course and IKEA.
