UK: Garmendale Engineering Names Kelvin Ensor New General Manager

(v.l.n.r.): Kelvin Ensor und David Shelmerdine

British ride manufacturer Garmendale Engineering recently announced that Kelvin Ensor has been appointed as new General Manager of the company, having worked with Garmendale for many years as both supplier and client in the automotive and engineering industries. “[…] We’d been tracking his career for some time and could see a cultural and skills fit with what Kevin had and what we felt we’d need as the business grew […],” said Zoe Shelmerdine, Sales Director at Garmendale.

In his new role, Ensor will oversee and strengthen the business management, procedures and processes and add depth and structure to the sales team through his experience in this area. “I’m looking forward to being able to bring all my experience and skills into the role. I’ve worked for over 27 years in both sales and service and 20 of these have been in senior management. I love systemization and creating business processes. I know it’s an unusual thing to enjoy, but I thrive on creating order,” stated Ensor.

The appointment will allow David Shelmerdine, Managing Director of the company, to work with his in-house design engineering team on the ambitious new product development program the business began in 2015 and which saw the recent installation of the first “QuadStar Vroomster” ride at Alton Towers Resort in the UK (cf. “Just Opened” in EAP, 4/17), a “Tracked Dark Ride” has been supplied to Santa Park in Finland.
