UK: ROARR! Dinosaur Adventure Plans Expansion
The 34-hectare (85-acre) dinosaur park ROARR! Dinosaur Adventure, which is run by the Goymour family, is planning an extensive expansion of its area, which currently features not only replicas of prehistoric giants but also interactive visitor attractions. The full planning application has now been submitted to the planning committee of Broadland District Council. To expand the family-friendly experience portfolio, the park plans to initially implement new attraction offerings such as a “vertical volcano ride”, a play cave, a teacup carousel, inflatables and numerous interactive play concepts. In addition, the entrance area will be redesigned and the F&B and merchandise offerings will be expanded. The expansion will then be completed in two further phases, about which no further details were announced yet.
“This project has been three years in the planning, and we are hugely excited to finally submit the full extent of our ambitious expansion, which is designed to provide gentle and exhilarating play opportunities for children up to the age of ten,” said Adam Goymour, park director, and adds “[…] We are determined that ROARR! will become a UK-wide destination and these plans highlight our commitment and significant investment in the business as well as Norfolk’s thriving and healthy visitor economy […].”
Phil Higgins, Co-founder and Chief Creative Officer at Katapult, who has been granted with the master planning, commented: “We are thrilled to be working with ROARR! to design the vision and master plan for the park expansion. It has been a great opportunity for us to bring our experience of working with both global and UK attractions, to design a truly immersive and interactive new land with family fun at its heart. This is the start of an exciting journey working with Adam and the team and we’re looking forward to a ‘ROARR!-some’ 2022 collaborating on the designs.” (eap)
