USA: Adventure City Opens New Family Shuttle Coaster

Recently visitors of Adventure City theme park located in Anaheim, California, got the chance to ride the new family shuttle coaster “Rewind Racers” for the first time. The Gerstlauer coaster’s special feature is that visitors can experience the ride twice – the first time forwards, the second time backwards. Starting at the point of departure, riders are pulled up the first lift hill backwards, go down the drop and the course forwards, rise up a second lift, and then experience it all again backwards before the ride stops at the departure point. “We wanted something that was unique, that would be exciting but smooth for the kids. It provides just the right amount of excitement. And, obviously, going backward on a ride is a lot of fun”, Allan Ansdell Jr., president of Adventure City, comments.

Rewind Racers features an instant capacity of 14 persons. On a track length of 181 meters it reaches a top speed of 50 km/h. With an investment volume of more than two million US dollar (around 1.8 million Euro) it has been the park’s largest single investment so far. (eap)
