USA: Busch Gardens Williamsburg & Water Country USA Announce New Attractions for 2019

Theme and animal park Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Water Country USA waterpark, both owned and operated by SeaWorld Entertainment, have announced to add a new attraction each to their existing visitor offer in spring 2019.

With “Finnegan’s Flyer”, Busch Gardens Williamsburg will open a new thrill attraction in its “Ireland” village, adjacent to the existing “Loch Ness Monster” rollercoaster. The ride, which is a Screamin’ Swing model from US manufacturer S&S, will feature two pendulum-like arms seating 16 riders each per gondola. Those mechanic arms will fly progressively higher with each swing, reaching a total height of some 24 meters (80 feet) at a maximum speed of 72 km/h (45 mph).

Also located in Williamsburg/Virginia, Water Country USA has announced to launch a RocketBlast® hybrid water coaster from Canadian company ProSlide next year, which combines a water jet propulsion system and Flying Saucer elements, reminiscent of a giant plate. “Cutback Water Coaster” will be the name of the new attraction, on which guests will be able to rush along a 260 meter (856 feet) long slide track in four-person-rafts. According to the park, this new installation will be the first hybrid water coaster in Virginia. (eap)
