Employees are a company’s most important asset … With this in mind, Herschend Enterprises recently announced its intention to fully cover tuition, fees and literature for its 11,000 employees, who entertain millions of guests each year, to further their education. Founded in 1960, the group of companies is one of the largest privately-owned operators of theme parks and tourist attractions in the United States, with a portfolio that includes Dollywood Parks & Resorts (Tennessee) and Silver Dollar City (Missouri). Further education support for the workforce will be provided through the “GROW U” program, which aims to make it easier for employees at all levels to achieve their personal and professional dreams through education.
Officially launching on February 24, 2022, the GROW U program will apply to all seasonal, part-time and full-time employees at the company’s 25 US attractions. To offer a high-quality educational experience, Herschend Enterprises is partnering with the nation’s leading education and training platform, Guild Education. Employees will have access to 30 learning partners, including programs in high-demand areas such as business administration and leadership, culinary, finance, technology and marketing. In addition to this, the company will provide partial funding of up to 5,250 US dollars per year for 150 additional programs in fields including hospitality, engineering, human resources and art design.
