USA: Justice League: Battle for Metropolis Open at Six Flags Over Texas

The new 4-D dark ride “JUSTICE LEAGUE: Battle for Metropolis” was opened at Six Flags Over Texas (Arlington, Texas) on May 23, 2015 (cp. EAP, issue 1/2015). As JUSTICE LEAGUE Reserve Team, visitors join “Superman”, “Batman”, “Wonder Woman”, “Green Lantern” and “The Flash” to outwit villains’ “Lex Luthor” and “The Joker” plans to destroy the city of Metropolis. Sitting in six-passenger custom designed, motion-based vehicles, guests are equipped with interactive laser blasters to extinguish 600 virtual and tangible targets featured throughout the 3:20 minutes long ride, including a life-like villain animatronic, helicopters and an interactive fog screen. For the implementation of this new dark ride, Six Flags worked together with numerous renowned companies from the industry: Sally Corporation (design, story development, scenery and life-like animatronics), Pure Imagination (3-D graphics and film), Alterface (gaming elements) and Oceaneering (vehicles). Another dark ride attraction of this kind will open at Six Flags St. Louis on June 5. (eap)
