USA: Raging Waves to Open ProSlide TornadoWAVE

TornadoWAVE at Happy Magic Waterpark

In 2008, the 18-hectare Raging Waves water park, located some 86 kilometers southwest of Chicago, Illinois, opened its doors. Visited by more than 300,000 guests annually, the family-owned park today offers, amongst other features, 20 water slides, a wave pool, a lazy river and several areas dedicated to children.

This year, the park intends to surprise its visitors with a spectacular new attraction: On time with the start of this season on May 28, the water park will open “Wonambi”, a TornadoWAVE slide delivered by ProSlide. The park promises its guests a breathtaking ride experience offering speeds of up to 56 kilometers per hour and the feeling of weightlessness. Themed as a constrictor snake, the slide will feature four-person rafts. “Raging Waves is all about family and we love that families can enjoy the adrenaline rush of Wonambi together in the large rafts,” says Dawn Witt, co-owner of Raging Waves.

The world’s first TornadoWAVE attraction was opened in 2011 at Happy Magic Waterpark, located in Beijing, China (cf. EAP, issue 6/2011). (eap)
