USA: Universal Studios Hollywood to Open Fast & Furious-Supercharged Thrill Ride June 25

This year will see the opening of several new attractions at Universal Studios Hollywood as the theme park resort celebrates its 50th anniversary. Now the opening date of the much-anticipated “Fast & Furious-Supercharged” thrill ride has officially been announced: June 25, 2015. As the grand finale to the world-famous Studio Tour, this hydraulic motion-based ride will tell an original Fast & Furious story fusing hyper-realistic special effects with a state-of-the-art 3D audio system and 3D-HD-imagery, projected onto a 360-degree screen. Spanning nearly 122 meters in length to encircle Studio Tour guests within a newly constructed around 6,000 square meter large structure on the backlot, the screen will use 34 4K projectors and a sophisticated projection configuration system. Interviews with several of the Fast & Furious cast members such as Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson and Luke Evans offer a look behind the scenes. Exclusive content – which was filmed with the cast members – will be featured on the tram monitors of the Studio Tour.

Similar to Orlando the Hollywood park will also get a “Springfield” theme area surrounding “The Simpsons Ride” this year. Restaurants, bars and other legendary spots from the series can be found within the new area. The opening of “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™” will be the absolute highlight next year. (eap)
