USA: Waterpark Guests Chase Aliens at Wet’n’Wild SplashTown Houston

Wet’n’Wild SplashTown Houston, which has been part of the Wet’n’Wild brand since 2014 (c.f. EAP news from March 19th, 2014), will inaugurate its new “Alien Chaser” water slide this month. The approx. 18 meter (six stories) high, combined tube, drop and dive slide (a FlyingSAUCER 30 model of Canadian manufacturer ProSlide) is the new landmark of the waterpark and offers thrilling sliding fun on some 131 meters (429 feet). On two-person tubes bathing guests speed through dark tunnels and rocket into wide-open sections, designed as massive saucers. The steep angle of the saucers creates a “drop-and-dive” sensation as riders race along its edge.

“We are looking forward to introducing this one-of-a-kind ride to Wet’n’Wild SplashTown,” said Jody Kneupper, General Manager of the waterpark. “There is no other slide like this in Texas and we can’t wait to bring this new, innovative ride to Houston. It will certainly add some out of this world thrills to Houston this summer!” he added. (eap)
