Universe Science Park in Denmark Adds Two New Attractions
(eap) Universe Science Park in Nordborg, Denmark, presents science and technology in a playful way. Interactive exhibitions and rides combine knowledge with fun, aiming to make physical concepts tangible for all age groups. Recently, the park has expanded its offerings – especially for families with children – with two new family rides supplied by Austrian manufacturer Sunkid.
A “Loopster” with eight cabins for two people each lets visitors experience rotation and centrifugal force with their own bodies. The park has named the new ride “Space Spinner”, which features a bright yellow-orange design and a capacity of up to 480 riders per hour. By pressing buttons on the restraint system, riders can choose the direction of rotation (forward or backward) and trigger short pauses while being held upside down. “We turn you upside down – if you dare! […] You can’t get closer to the feeling of an astronaut – only without rocket propulsion and a spacesuit!” the park promotes the attraction, which fits seamlessly into its science-and-technology theme.

In addition, a Sunkid Tower has been installed, allowing riders to pull themselves up on ropes to enjoy a 360-degree view over the park grounds. Releasing the rope results in a short, gently braked free fall – the feature that gives the attraction its name, “Gravity Tower”. According to Sunkid, this type of attraction was installed within five working days, also thanks to the minimal foundation work required. The minimum height requirement for riders is 95 cm.
Alongside Universe Science Park, Nordborg now boasts another major leisure facility in the region: In June, Center Parcs Nordborg became the first Center Parcs holiday park to open in Scandinavia. In addition to holiday accommodations, the resort includes the Aqua Mundo waterpark as well as numerous indoor and outdoor activity options, catering to both tourists and day visitors.
