(eap) Walibi Rhône-Alpes is expanding its Halloween event “WAAAlloween”, which will take place from 3 October to 11 November 2026, with the new immersive “Mystic Zone”. A total of 300,000 euros will be invested in the darkly themed scare area. Fog and sound effects, performers, the walk-through attraction “Marécage de l’Enfer” (Hell Swamp) and the themed “Voodoo Bar” will create an eerie atmosphere centred around the character “Dr. Mystic”. Access to the zone is included in the regular park admission.

For the first time, the park will also host two separately ticketed Halloween nights. On 24 and 31 October, Walibi Rhône-Alpes will open from 7 pm to 1 am. The park strongly advises visitors under the age of 16 not to attend these separately ticketed events.

Around 126,000 people attended the event in 2025, accounting for almost 20 per cent of the park’s annual attendance.

“Halloween has become one of the park’s most important seasonal highlights in terms of attendance. That is why we continue to develop our offering every year. Our aim is to further enhance the park’s appeal during this period and establish Walibi Rhône-Alpes as a year-round leisure destination,” explains Park Director Luc de Roo. He adds, “The Halloween experience is not limited to the haunted houses and shows. It also unfolds throughout the park, through direct interaction with the performers. It is these sometimes unexpected encounters that leave a lasting impression on visitors.”

Even before the start of the Halloween season, the French amusement park, which is part of the Compagnies des Alpes group, has welcomed around 18,300 more visitors since the start of the season than during the same period last year, according to its own information. The park cites families with children under the age of twelve as a particular driver of this growth. The new family attractions that opened in the “Exotic Island” themed area this spring (cf. EAP 4/2026) are also likely to have contributed to this development. At the same time, the proportion of guests travelling from more than 90 minutes away is increasing. ■
