Wet’n’Wild: New “Zoom Zone” Slide Tower Opens
(eap) The Wet’n’Wild waterpark operated by Village Roadshow Theme Parks on Australia’s Gold Coast has recently opened its latest attraction: the nearly 18-meter-high “Zoom Zone” slide tower, featuring four body slides from WhiteWater. The new attraction, with its colorful tubes, is located between the existing “Aqua Racer”, “River Rapids”, and “Constrictor” slides. The new body slides have been equipped with various Aqua Lucent effects designed to colorfully illuminate the interior of the tubes.

“At almost 18 metres high, the Zoom Zone is the second tallest slide tower in the park, and we have developed the four slides to have varying thrill levels so there will be something for all our guests. Two of the slides will be the faster with steeper drops to give a more thrilling experience for our braver guests, with two have a less steep incline and lower height restriction to provide an opportunity for younger guests to still experience the thrills of a body slide,” explains Village Roadshow CEO Clark Kirby.
Kirby also stated that Zoom Zone is the first of four new attractions to open this month across the Village Roadshow Theme Parks locations: “We are gearing up for one of our biggest Summers ever across our theme parks with Zoom Zone soon to be joined by the new ‘Spy Chase Stunt Show’ and return of fan-favourite ‘Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster’ at Movie World (retrofit of Mack Rides), and the new ‘One Dolphin Presentation’ at Sea World. We are always looking at bringing new experiences to our theme parks and these new attractions showcase our commitment to the tourism industry and bringing visitation to the Gold Coast.” ■
