(eap) As part of the extensive expansion of its associated indoor water park Wild WaterDome, Wilderness at the Smokies Resort in Sevierville (Tennessee) has now also announced the completion of the second construction phase and opened the new rooftop area “Lookout Lagoon” for guests.

The “Lookout Lagoon” offers an outdoor swimming pool with panoramic views of the nearby Smoky Mountains, a restaurant with bar, rooftop cabanas and an entertainment area. With this new range of offers, the indoor and outdoor expansion of the water park, covering a total area of approx. 40,000 square feet (over 3,700 square meters), is now complete. The first construction phase (in the indoor area) was finished at the end of last year: You can find out all about the attractions added in December – including the artistically staged “Kaleidoscope Cavern” Lazy River (realized in collaboration with Moment Factory) and the Master Blaster water slide “Ridge Runner” (by WhiteWater West) – in our EAP magazine issue of March/April 2024.

Aquatic Development Group, based in Cohoes (New York), was once again the partner for the extensive expansion of the water park and responsible for the design build of both construction phases. In addition to the Wild WaterDome, the Wilderness at the Smokies Resort also includes the Soaky Mountain outdoor water park directly opposite. ■
