World’s Tallest Lego Minifigure Unveiled at Legoland Windsor

Hannah ‘Phiz’ Phizacklea face to face with the world’s tallest LEGO® minifigure, Roxie.

(eap) LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort in Berkshire, England, part of Merlin Entertainments, is starting the countdown to the opening of its new roller coaster “Minifigure Speedway”, which is set to open at Easter this year as the first “LEGO® Dueling Reverse Coaster” (by Zierer). As the “mascot” of the coaster, the world’s largest Lego minifigure now adorns the ride, a ten-meter tall figure named “Roxie”, which has been placed between the roller coaster tracks.

“It’s a big day for all the team at the Resort to see the world’s tallest minifigure, Roxie, take pride of place in our new attraction, Minifigure Speedway. There’s nowhere else in the world you can see Roxie, she’s entirely bespoke to us here at Legoland Windsor – we can’t wait for everyone to see her!” says Helen Bull, Head of Division at Legoland Windsor Resort.

Hannah ‘Phiz’ Phizacklea, Lead Creative on Minifigure Speedway, adds: “The unveiling of Roxie as the world’s tallest Lego minifigure is a dream come true for me. Growing up playing with Lego and visiting the park, it feels very special to have been part of the team that dreamed up an authentic Lego character. Roxie is a strong female role model, and it was important we created an iconic character that children can look up to – literally! Minifigure Speedway brings a real thrill element to the park especially for older kids who will love the competitiveness of racing against each other as one of the All Stars or Legends.”

An overview of new rides and attractions at Europe’s theme parks can be found in our park report, which is going to be published in EAP 2/2024 on March 1. ■
