World of Volvo Launches New Attraction: Traffic School for Kids
(eap) The World of Volvo brand and event centre in Gothenburg is launching a new attraction today: the “Traffic School”, where children can learn the basics of road safety in a playful and engaging way. Set up as an outdoor driving course, the experience allows children aged seven to twelve (minimum height: 110 cm) to drive electrically powered, child-sized Volvo vehicles through a realistic traffic environment featuring intersections, pedestrian crossings, and roundabouts.
“Traffic safety has always been a core value at Volvo. With Traffic School, we want to create a hands-on experience that sparks curiosity, helps children understand traffic rules – and is also a lot of fun,” says Viktoria Wallner, Chief Experience Officer at World of Volvo. The experience has been carefully designed to appeal to children of various ages and levels of prior knowledge. The vehicles used in the attraction – supplied by SBI Sweden – were specially modelled and developed for the brand experience centre, which celebrated its grand opening in April last year (see also our article in EAP 3/2024). Based on the latest Volvo models, these child-sized vehicles allow young visitors to earn their “first driving licence”.
“It’s about sparking an interest in traffic safety and respect for fellow road users, rather than teaching like an adult driving school,” explains Emma Bryngelsson, who developed the educational concept. Wallner adds: “Traffic School is a fantastic addition to World of Volvo’s offerings, helping to make us a place that breathes innovation, inspiration, and experiences for all ages.” ■
