Yomiuriland & The Pokémon Company Announce Details of “PokéPark Kanto”
(eap) Back in late 2023, The Pokémon Company, Yomiuriland, and its parent company Yomiuri Shimbun announced the establishment of the joint venture PokéPark Kanto (see EAP News from 19 Dec 2023). Now, the companies have revealed further details about the new themed park, which is scheduled to open in spring 2026 as part of the Yomiuriland amusement park.

Yomiuriland is located in a scenic, hilly area stretching across Inagi (Tokyo) and Kawasaki (Kanagawa Prefecture). Within a 2.6-hectare section of this landscape, the new PokéPark Kanto will be developed. The name refers to the Kanto Region – the setting of the original Pokémon video games “Pokémon Red and Green” – and also to the real-life geographic region of Kanto, where Yomiuriland is located.
PokéPark Kanto is set to feature two distinct zones: “Pokémon Forest”, where visitors will follow a 500-meter trail to encounter Pokémon in a forest-like setting, and “Katsura Town”, which will include merchandise shops, two attractions, and a parade. In total, fans will be able to discover more than 600 Pokémon throughout the park. ■
