Austria – The Czech Republic: New Spa and Thermae in "Weinviertler Dreiländereck"

According to information from Centropolitan, a new spa is to be built on the Austrian-Czech border between Valtice in Southern Moravia and Schrattenberg in Lower Austria, at a cost of 70 million euros. It will be located on a 12-hectare site surrounded by vineyards, inspiring the name “Weintherme” (wine thermae) in initial press releases. EU subsidies are being applied for to carry out the project. Sources claim that a study predicts annual visitor figures of around 550,000. (eap)
